Fresh Faces at First National Bank of Sycamore, Part 2

Here are seven more new employees at First National Bank of Sycamore we’d like to introduce to you! As in Part 1 of this article series, we’ve asked each of these newest members of our family to talk about why they like working for FNB, how their job at FNB differs from previous jobs they’ve had, and whether they’ve had any unique or memorable experiences at FNB so far. Read on to learn more about the new members of our team.

Trent Baum: Part-Time Customer Service Representative

Trent loves all the new people he has met while working at FNB, and he feels that FNB provides a more professional environment than other jobs he has had in the past. He says his most memorable experience so far is “getting to tour the branches and meeting all of my co-workers.”

Lydia Coldiron: Accounting Clerk

Lydia appreciates how close she’s gotten to her co-workers, “especially working in different areas of the bank, I’ve been able to get to know the majority pretty closely.” She also loves how FNB works to “target my strengths and find out what my interests are, which has allowed me to grow and learn many new things within the bank. The people here are also knowledgeable and willing to share their experience to help develop newer employees and their skills.”

Lydia says one of the most memorable experiences she’s had so far was visiting local nursing homes to deliver Christmas gifts to the residents. She also enjoys interacting with customers. They “often made me laugh,” she says, “and I enjoy the good times I have just hearing stories and getting to know the people in my community.”

Sarah D. Johnson: Financial Services Manager

Sarah likes that FNB is “community-minded. We do a lot of giving behind the scenes without having to get recognition for every little good deed . . . it just goes unmentioned.”

This community feel is also why she sees her job at FNB as different from other jobs she’s had.  “Everyone that works here lives here,” she says. “Or at least within a very short radius. [And] all bank decisions are made with each other (including employees) in mind.” And even though she’s only been at the bank for a few months, Sarah feels so welcomed by both the branches and the customers.

Grant Ekleberry: Loan Officer/Credit Analyst

Like so many other employees, Grant also attests to the family-like atmosphere present at First National Bank of Sycamore. “Even on the very first day of the job,” he says, “I felt very welcomed. When you work at FNB, your co-workers know more than just your name, [and] they take the time to become invested in you and your life. This not only makes the day go fast but makes the work more rewarding [because] you are part of a team that truly cares.”

Working as a loan officer at FNB of Sycamore is different from other jobs Grant has had because here he can work with the people and businesses in his own community. He says that “there is no better feeling than being able to work with the people who you live and work around to help achieve their goals.” And the best experiences he has are “when I work with a customer to do something for the first time. Whether it is helping them to buy their first car, buy their first home, or start their own business, you always remember the firsts and [the] feeling you get from being part of that experience with the customer.”

Jackie Brezina: IT Operator

Jackie loves the family feel she has with her coworkers, and, she says, “unlike my past jobs, FNB has given me the opportunity to learn more to help me grow within the bank.” Some of her favorite memories at FNB include volunteering for events like the All Saints Fest and the Firemen’s reverse raffle, as well as “getting to know our customers outside the bank.”

Penny Kuhn: Customer Service Representative

Penny truly enjoys working for a business that is community-oriented. She loves working with such a great group of co-workers in an environment that really feels like a family! One of her most memorable experiences so far at FNB of Sycamore has been the golf outing.

 

Barb Staib:Customer Service Representative

Barb loves the work environment at FNB of Sycamore. She says, "everyone is very friendly and helpful, especially with the learning process. The level of customer care I have witnessed so far makes me very happy to be a part of the FNB family. Knowing the customers by name, always making them feel welcome, and the environment of FNB." Her role at FNB is different from previous jobs she's had because of "being treated like a member of a family and not as much an employee."
